Sen. Kirk Watson delivers tamales to MOWAM clients!
This holiday season, Sen. Kirk Watson is spreading a little sugar and spice around.
On Friday, he plans to deliver tamales (hand made by two senate employees) to several homebound Meals on Wheels and More clients in Austin as a special treat with their regular meal. Meals on Wheels and More CEO Dan Pruett will join him.
This occasion is made extra special by the fact that earlier this year Sen. Watson co-sponsored House Bill 407 with Rep. Warren Chisum (R-Pampa). The bill authorizes additional state funding for Meals on Wheels organizations across the State of Texas.
“Meals on Wheels and More is so grateful to Sen. Watson for his legislative work on behalf of the elderly and disabled residents of our state,” said Pruett. “And I know our clients here in Austin will be excited to receive some delicious homemade tamales with their Friday meal.”
Media is welcome to accompany Sen. Watson on this route and interview clients.
